Précis:
Ojos del Salado is located in the Atacama Desert in Chile, one of earth’s most magnificent wonder. Ojos del Salado’s peak stands at 6,893m AMSL and is thus the second highest point in America. Ojos del Salado is an extinct volcano. Owing to its isolated location, Ojos de Salado is not a popular mountain. The air is dry in this region and the weather conditions are not as hazardous as on Aconcagua. This mountain was attempted unguided and unassisted, with a solo attempt to the summit. This expedition was supported by CFPSA, Canadian Forces Personnel Support Programs, 438 Squadron, and la Caisse Desjardins de Granby-Haute-Yamaska.
A second summit attempt was attempted in December 2014 with a small team consisted of Maxime Bernier-Brideau and myself. The party did not reach the summit.
